Insurance companies are beginning to realize the benefit of providing Medical Nutrition Therapy coverage. Some types of diseases that are covered include: diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated blood cholesterol or triglycerides, cardiovascular disease, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, kidney disease and high risk pregnancy. Other diagnoses could be covered, as long as Medical Nutrition Therapy is part of the treatment plan.

At PNT, payment in full for consultations is due at the time of the appointment unless prior arrangements with the RD have been made (with the exception of employer contracts*). All patients will receive a receipt for services that includes the appropriate information for filing with their insurance provider or utilizing for tax purposes.

* Texas Instruments employees, families and retirees are required to pay a co-pay only at the time of the visit (and deductible until that is fulfilled). PNT will file for insurance coverage for these individuals.

PNT will provide a superbill/receipt with our provider number on it which may be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Not all insurance companies reimburse for Medical Nutrition Therapy. You must check to see that YOUR individual plan covers Medical Nutrition Therapy.
